Here it is! Yarn that is the passion of Iron Water Ranch's founder, our shepherd, Kirsten! For those that do not know, moorit is a color pattern in sheep that appears as a light to dark brown. In Romney sheep, it is incredibly rare and IWR is the original importer and breeder of Moorit Romneys in the United States. This color pattern in this quality of fiber has been a lifelong passion for Kirsten, and we are so excited to share it with you!
This beautiful yarn is 2-ply fingerling weight and comes in 200 yard skeins that are roughly 65 grams/2.25 oz. The fiber was grown, washed, and spun all right here in Oregon. The sheep that provided the fleeces are Zeke, Zach, Kiwi, Scorch, and Rebecca. The wool was processed by Columbia Custom Carding in Northern Oregon.
